Health is the greatest gift, contentment is the greatest wealth, faithfulness the best relationship (Buddha). A thought for today! It is so easy to take for granted the things that matter the most! When we are in good health, we pay no attention to it and we do not give thanks for this wonderful gift. It is only when we become ill that we realise how good it was to be well. We don't always reach the point of contentment, as we allow negative thoughts to enter our minds and lives, or we want more than what we have, and sometimes we experience absolute greed. We fail over and over to be happy with the things we have until all is lost. Then we reflect and realise just how much we had. Sometimes we experience contentment, but we can be ignorant and fail to recognise that we had this and didn't know. Faithfulness, trust, honesty are some of the areas we chase in our relationships. But what is faithfulness? No relationship can flourish without trust, and with trust comes honesty. Being faithful isn't always about remaining physically faithful in a marriage or relationship! Faithfulness needs to be understood and begins with ourselves. Being true to ourselves is not an easy task as we sometimes know the truth is not always going to be welcomed into the lives of others. It is so easy to turn a blind eye in an attempt to reduce the labour that may arrive in trying to deliver the truth. However, the truth is the only way, and if you wish to be faithful to yourself and others let faithfulness start with you.
